Here is a list of suggested activities for the rest of the week. As always, only do as much as you can and please share your work, we love seeing it. You can email it to us or share it via the Aladdin Connect app.

If you have your school books at home please work away at finishing them.

Writing:

This is a short week because of the bank holiday weekend. We hope you had a lovely weekend and we would like you to write about anything you did during the long weekend or any other news you have.

Use the ‘News Map’ and‘My News Chart’ to help you plan your news before writing your full sentences into a copy or on a sheet of paper.

When you have finished you can edit your writing using the CUPS strategy.

Writing: Create your own Character

For today’s activity you are going to be creating your own crazy character.

First step is to imagine your character(the crazier the better). You can use the picture on the bottom of the worksheet to help you.

Next you need to draw and colour your character and give your new character a name.

Lastly you must write at least five sentences about your character on any paper you have at home.

Remember! You need to use lots of ADJECTIVES to DESCRIBE your character.

You need to describe…………

What your character looks like…… (big,small,fat,thin,yellow,red)

What their personality is like……(kind,funny,mean,angry)

And you can add a bit about what they like to do for fun!

I have attached some adjectives lists to help you with your spelling and give you some ideas.

The more adjectives the better!

Science: Dancing Raisins Experiment

For today’s science experiment we are going to be testing what happens when we put raisins into still water compared to when we put them into sparkling or fizzy water.

If you do not have all the materials for this experiment do not worry! I have attached a video for you to watch instead.

You will need:

Raisins

Two clear cups/glasses

Still water (tap water)

Sparkling water (or any fizzy liquid)

Fun Activity -Spot the difference  

Have a look at the picture and see if you can find the 10 differences.

If you would like as an extra activity you can try and draw your own spot the difference and challenge your brother, sister, Mam, Dad or whoever is at home!

For example: His smile is a s bright as the sun or she swims like a fish.

S.P.H.E. – Rainbow Moments

This activity is all about positive thinking and looking out for small happy moments or ‘rainbow moments’. This is especially important at this time when things can seem a bit gloomy. I am sure you are missing school and your friends.

That is why it is very important to look for ‘rainbow moments’ in our day to help ourselves stay happy and positive!

A Rainbow moment is a small thing that happened during the day that made us happy.

It can be something simple like your Mum made your favourite dinner or your brother shared his toys with you.

For example my rainbow moment was getting a phone call from my Granny.

Take a look at the activity sheet, and write down 3 Rainbow moments you had this week.
